For being a “cheaper” webcam, we were expecting the image quality to be meh at best. However, we were pleasantly surprised that the image quality is actually really good. We got this to use for virtual meetings in our conference room. The wide-angle does a great job of seeing the entire room and everything is very sharp in detail. We honesty like this camera more than our Logitech Brio 4k webcam that we use at the office. The Brio has a great image but is terrible if you aren’t in extremely bright lighting. The Spedal webcam does fairly well even without the best lighting.
Spedal Webcam Reviews: Value
Spedal webcam drivers: easy to setup and use. Spedal Full HD webcam gives you a lot of flexibility to install it. Just plug it into your computer and open up the video software you want to use (Zoom/Skype/etc) and it automatically detects the platform as the video/audio source.
Spedal webcam is a pretty tiny device, which makes it portable, with dimensions of 4.4 x 4.4 x 2.9 inches, and of much better build quality than the Jelly comb webcam. The mounting clip has a height of 9.55 mm, so if your monitor’s bezel is thinner than that it might cover the edge of the screen just a bit. The inside of the clip is entirely covered with a layer of rubber, so you don’t have to worry about it damaging your monitor.
Spedal Webcam Reviews: Performance
FOV: 120 degrees | Resolution: 1080p | Framerate: 30fps
Spedal webcam software resolution up to 1080p support at 30FPS. The field of view is 120 degrees. The lens angle of the camera is pretty wide, a bit wider than Logitech C310. The field of view is much wider than We expected, it’s awesome. Lens has a manual focus dial which is nice to adjust the foreground and background.
The ability to rotate is a huge plus since you don’t get that from any Logitech webcam. The field of view truly is 100 compared to the 78 degrees on the Logitech C920s and it was a noticeable difference.
Spedal webcam reviews & test:
Spedal Full HD webcam built with noise reduction microphones, this webcam blocks out unwanted background noise and captures a clear voice. Everyone can hear the real you.
This is a webcam, people should not be expecting to record high-quality audio with it. The quality is fine for general use. The people on the end can hear you with no complaints. A bit of a tip, the camera’s functionality is driven by the software that is using it. Sometimes the default for the mic is set too low. We need to test this and adjust this up. We had to do this for both Duos and Facetime. Once we adjusted the mic up to regular levels, there was no issue. we suspect people are overlooking this.
The space where I practice yoga at home is small. Like everything these days, yoga is being taught via Zoom. It’s important for the teacher to be able to see my entire body in order to provide personal instruction. I was using the Logitech camera that I have for work, but it wasn’t adequate for my yoga needs. So I ordered this one with the wider lens. Bingo! Perfect angle now. I still need to figure out the manual focus feature a bit better, but the picture is clear enough to start.Customer Reviews
If you intend to use a webcam for streaming, you might want a webcam with a high-quality image. With the currently reduced price, the Spedal webcam is a good choice. But if you’re prepared to spend more, the Aoboco stream webcam offers the same specs as the Spedal Full HD Webcam and more.
Another option is the Nexigo Webcam, which you can buy for $ 54.99 for up to 30% sale on amazon, and offers similar specs.
Overall, we are pretty impressed with the Spedal webcam. It’s substantially cheaper than other webcams, has a decent microphone, and with a few tweaks, we got some decent video out of it. There is some distortion around the edges because of the wide-angle, but you can change the focus area in OBS and eliminate that. We would highly consider this camera for anyone looking to start streaming on a budget or add some quality to Zoom meetings that have taken over your life these days.
